Each Fading Moment
We’ve come a long way
Days of hunger
Days of pain
Days where rejection would rein
Days where tomorrow was unknown
Hoping for a break
Yet given another sorrow…
Looking into the sky
Always asking why…
Autumn came too soon
Reflections show it plain
No matter…for unrelenting we were
No choices in the matter
And finally the spirits did give in
For they shared a secret they hid
That in the long journey they always knew
That we were always their hope renewed
Rain passing…rainbows appearing
We didn’t stop, we surely never did
Till the dream was real
And in each fading moment
We look back and thank
For all the pain there was…
There was even more joy…just so much
And as tears make their way
We set off into that place
into that sunset
that surely will be
the moment for you. . . and me.
